MTS says to equip 4 resorts with smart GPS trackers for tourists
ARKHYZ, Karachayevo-Cherkessia, Jul 14 (PRIME) -- Mobile operator MTS will equip four Russian resorts with tourist GPS trackers to maintain connection with rescuers even in hard-to-reach areas with no mobile connection in the next two years, the company’s press secretary Irina Deryugina told PRIME on Friday.
The trackers will be free and will be handed over in the branches of the Emergency Situations Ministry during the registration of a route, Deryugina said without specifying the resorts.
In total, the resorts will get about 200 devices.
A GPS tracker is a thin shockproof device supporting a function of voice connection, the Internet, and SMSs.
